Toyota will officially launch the new Etios Cross on May 7, 2014. Dealerships have been accepting bookings at an amount of Rs 50,000 since February for the car and have stated that the waiting period will be approximately a month. The new Toyota Etios Cross is expected to retail for around Rs 60,000 more than the price of the standard Liva.
The Etios Cross was first showcased by Toyota at the Auto Expo 2014. The new Etios Cross is essentially Toyota’s regular Etios Liva hatchback with a considerable amount of thick side body cladding to give it a more rugged appearance. On the exterior, the new Etios Cross gets a matte black plastic band that goes right across from its chin, to the flanks and around the rear. It also gets skid plates that have a dull silver finish.
The Toyota Etios Cross gets a new front grille with turn indicators in the fog lamps. It also gets roof rails, wing mirrors with turn indicators, a rear spoiler and diamond-finish 15-inch alloy wheels. It also gets a prominent ‘Etios Cross’ badge across its boot lid. These bits make the new Etios Cross look more rugged than the Toyota Etios Liva. The Cross will be offered to buyers in eight colour options. Also, the new Etios Cross is 120mm longer, 40mm wider and 45mm taller than the standard Liva.
On the inside, you get piano black interiors and sporty seat fabric and Etios Cross badging. It also features a 2-DIN audio system with aux, Bluetooth and USB compatibility. The top variants will also get audio controls on the steering wheel, and a rear defogger and wiper. On the safety front, it will come equipped with ABS and EBD and dual front airbags.
There will be no mechanical changes on the new Etios Cross and it will be sold with the same engine options that are also available on the standard Etios Liva. The Etios Cross will be available with the same 1.2-litre and 1.5-litre petrols and 1.4-litre diesel motor. Even the power outputs of 79bhp and 89bhp for the 1.2 and 1.5-litre petrols and 68bhp for the 1.4 diesel are identical to the standard Liva hatchback. The 1.2-litre petrol motor will power the base variants of the Etios Cross, while the 1.5-litre petrol motor will be available only on the top trims.

2015 Camry at the New York Auto Show

Toyota will showcase the 2015 Camry at the New York Auto Show that will “challenge conventional expectations of a mid-cycle model change”, the carmaker has confirmed. There isn’t too much detail available about the Toyota Camry facelift, but the President of Toyota’s Calty Design Research had previously said that the car will have a “more emotional, more impactful design”. The facelift Toyota Camry will feature the same engines, including a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine making 178bhp, 23.5kgm torque, a hybridized 2.5-litre four-cylinder with a combines output of 200bhp, and a 3.5-litre V6 with 268bhp and 25.3kgm torque.
However, Toyota has recently launched the new Camry in India, so it will be a while before the facelift hits Indian grounds.

Tarago and Innova: Toyota’s International Success Doesn’t Stop

The Toyota Tarago - sold only in Australia - and the Toyota Innova - sold only in India - are two similar vehicles from one of the world's most trusted automakers. In fact, both vehicles are highly regarded by the critics and well suited to the markets in which they compete.

Take the Tarago to begin with. The vehicle, like the Innova, is a sporty, four-door 'people mover' with stylish, aerodynamic lines, a futuristic driver's seat, touch-screen information console, loads of safety features, and the most appealing feature for those looking to transport large numbers of people -- seven to eight seats.

Tarago comes in a range of vehicles, from a four-cylinder GLi and four-cylinder GLX (the GLX includes more bells and whistles than the GLi) to the six-cylinder versions of both vehicles. This is in fact one of the most recognizable people mover vehicles in Australia and also one of the most trusted: most Australian car review sites say the latest Tarago does not disappoint - the vehicles handles well, and the six-cylinder engine in particular has been described as providing 'ample acceleration', which makes for an 'effortless' drive, especially when overtaking other vehicles.

The Toyota Innova, which is only sold in India, is built on the same design as the Tarago and offers many identical features and design specifications. For instance, the Innova holds the same number of people, features a similar-looking touch-screen console and offers the same outstanding safety features, including duel SRS airbags, anti-lock brakes, and a specially-designed 'GOA' body that is engineered to minimize damage or injuries in the case of an accident. The Innova even features a back camera display, allowing drivers to more safely and effectively watch their back while backing out of a parking space or alleyway.

Drivers in India describe the Innova as a comfortable, smooth ride that is a dream to take on long trips or a morning commute on the highway. Several sites have also noted how the Innova has only improved over previous editions, with a more well-apportioned interior in the recent model, better interior controls, including Bluetooth connectivity and a flexible interior, with seats that are able to be moved for storage and transportation of goods, or for transporting people.

If the reviews and design specs are any indication, both the Innova and the Toyota Tarago will be two more international success stories for Toyota.
