2014 Infiniti Q50 Model

ntroduction

Infiniti's 2014 Q50 isn't just a completely new model for the brand; it's also the start of a whole new naming system. From now on, all "Q" titles will denote passenger cars, and all "QX" titles will refer to SUVs. The Q50 may be new, but it takes its queues from its predecessor, the G37, which means it's excellently designed inside and out. From its smooth curves to its well-appointed cabin, this is a luxury sedan that aims to impress.

What's New
The Infiniti Q50 is all-new, and will serve as the upgraded version of the previous G37 sedan. Infiniti has also introduced a Hybrid Q50 to provide optimal fuel economy for budget-conscious and environmentally-conscious shoppers.

Interior/ExteriorThe body of the Q50 is curved and sculpted in all the right places, with a unique grill design and powerful build. There is plenty of legroom for passengers, and a good amount of trunk space.

The Q50 provides a hefty list of standard features starting with the base model. Particularly appealing are eight-way power seats, InTouch electronic touchscreen, and smartphone connectivity. The Q50 premium brings a vastly enhanced sound system and sunroof, while the Sport model adds more performance and design tweaks. Buyers interested in the Hybrid Premium or Sport will find nearly all of the same options as their conventionally-powered counterparts. As expected, a series of upgrade packages -- mostly for Premium and Sport trims -- throw in even more advanced features.

Under the Hood
All Q50s house a 3.7-liter V6 that puts out a healthy 328 horsepower. A seven-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive are standard, and all-wheel drive is optional. Fuel economy for rear-wheel drive Q50s comes in at 20 mpg city and 29 mpg highway for a combined 23 mpg. All-wheel drive drops the numbers a bit, yielding 19 mpg city and 27 mpg highway for 22 mpg combined.
Opting for the Hybrid provides a 3.5-liter V6 coupled to a 50-kilowatt electric motor. Rear-wheel drive Hybrids get an estimated 29 mpg city and 36 mpg highway for a combined 31 mpg, and with all-wheel drive the estimate drops to 28 mpg city and 35 mpg highway for 30 mpg combined.

Performance
The Q50 is a sporty luxury vehicle, and in many ways it performs like one. A Premium model rockets buyers from zero to 60 mph in about 5.5 seconds, and the V6 engine provides plenty of power, along with very capable handling. The ride over bumpier terrain is less refined, however, and traction around curves could be improved.

2009 - 2013 Nissan GT-R

nissan gt-r by chargespeed japan picture

hargespeed Japan has launched an aerodynamic upgrade for the R35 generation NissanGT-R . The aero-kit is now available in the U.S. as well. Unlike other aftermarket body kits available for the Nissan GT-R , the "Bottomline" by Chargespeed Japan has been designed to blend into the GT-R’s contours. The company also claims to have improved aerodynamic performance of the R35 Nissan GT-R.
Nissan has spent years perfecting the aerodynamic performance of the new GT-R , so it is already near perfection, so any improvements by this kit will only make the GT-R better.
The front bumper gets an add-on air dam to streamline the air hitting the front bumper. The side skirts have been lowered to prevent air from getting under the car and causing lift. The rear uses tiny guide vanes at the upper edge of the rear windshield to direct air onto the rear spoiler. A rear diffuser also helps channel air from under the car to create more downforce.
The Bottomline kit is a made specifically for Nissan GT-Rs built between 2009 and 2013. The company also offers individual components for those of you who want to build it piece-by-piece.
All the parts are made of fiber-reinforced plastics, but customers can also opt for "Hybrid" carbon-fiber parts, hand laid with a 1x1 weave. Chargespeed is also working on an all-carbon body kit upgrade.

2015 BMW M4

bmw m4 coupe individual picture

BMW Individual is defined by genuine exclusiveness combined with the most exclusive materials and colors. So, it was expected to see these exclusive features applied to the recently launched M3 sedan and M4 coupe . Both models will be displayed in January 2014 at the Detroit Auto Show alongside the standard M3 and M4 versions.
The BMW M4 Coupe Individual will be painted Mineral White and, even though there is no official confirmation on this just yet, we expect it to also get some elements seen on previous BMW Individual models, including special wheels and a black-chrome exhaust system.
The interior is trimmed in a sexy brown finish combined with high-quality wood. The seats are wrapped in a special leather that features a sharp cinnamon look, while some nice aluminum elements spice up the cabin and take the M4’s luxury up another notch — as if it really needs it.

2015 Ford for new Generation

first 2015 ford mustang will be auctioned for charity picture

As pretty much no surprise to anyone, the first retail 2015 Ford Mustang will be auctioned for charity at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona on January 18, 2014. All the proceeds will go to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) — the country’s leading global organization funding type-one diabetes research.
The Mustang crossing the block will be a GT model, and it will feature a V-8 engine with an output of "at least" 420 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. The car features all-new front and rear suspension systems, more precise steering control and enhanced ride comfort.
During the auction, Ford will also offer its fans the chance to ride in and drive its best models in the 2014 lineup and its resident performance models, like the Shelby GT500 ,Focus ST and Fiesta ST .
Visitors will also have the chance to see the special Mustang GT500 developed for the new "Need for Speed" movie, which is set to arrive in theaters on March 14, 2014.

2015 Honda Fit Gains A Small Dash Of Horsepower

2015 Honda Fit Gains A Small Dash Of Horsepower

The Honda Fit has been one of the best little cars on the market for several years now. It's cheap, super practical and good to drive. More power would only make it better. Will the 2015 Honda Fit finally bring a hot hatch back to the Honda lineup? Probably not at first.P
According to specs for the Japanese market Fit, the fastest Fit will have a 1.5-liter VTEC four with 132 horses and 114 ft.-lbs. of torque. That's not a big jump from the 117 horsepower in the current car, but it's still 15 more horses it didn't have before so we'll take it.
In Japan, the Fit will be available as a hybrid and with all-wheel drive on gas-only versions. We're not getting either of those, though. The Fit-based Vezel crossover (the name is changing for the U.S.) is getting an AWD option, according to Automotive Newsand may get a turbocharged version of the 1.5-liter down the road. Cross your fingers that ends up in a Fit Si soon.

2013 Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Spyder

2013 Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Spyder: The Jalopnik Review

There are very few cars that I look at and think are works of automotive perfection. The Gallardo is one of them. The wedge shape, the use of LEDs, the angular lines. It's one of the most sinister and menacing cars on the road, and you cannot mistake it for anything else.P
The Gallardo is the exact interpretation of what I think Lamborghini should be. Ridiculousness and fighter jet inspiration is all well and good, and works on one-offs like the Veneno and Egoista, but the Gallardo is not a car for that. It's aggressive and restrained at once. Lambo has built a car that actually gives me goosebumps and makes me do a double, triple, or sextuple take every single time I see it. Some here on staff say that the removal of the roof doesn't work on this car. P
My answer is simple: Don't put the top up. It looks amazing.P
There is nothing about the car that I don't like. I don't think it can be improved.

2015 Volvo XC90

The Stunning Volvo Concept Coupé Is The New Swedish Sexy

We now have full pics of the mysterious coupe Volvo has been teasing for days now. Designed in-house by Volvo's Thomas Ingenlath, it will debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week.

The Stunning Volvo Concept Coupé Is The New Swedish Sexy

From the rear angle, you can definitely see some P1800 influence, and that's always a good thing. Dare I say it looks a bit Aston Martin-ish from other angles?P
Volvo says this car is "the first out of three concept cars that points out the new design direction" for the brand, and that future Volvos will have the same grille and T-shaped headlamps.P
Interesting. I can't wait to see more. What say you about Volvo's new direction?

Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4

2015 Lamborghini Huracan

This holiday season, Lamborghini has a very special gift for automotive enthusiasts - the all-new Huracán LP610-4, also known as the long-awaited replacement for the Gallardo.

The new baby Lambo borrows heavily from the Aventador's styling book, with a sleek, smooth design in the traditional wedge shape. The head- and taillights share a strong resemblance with the Huracán's big brother, which in turn, draw inspiration from theReventón. The low-slung look is especially pleasing from the rear three-quarter view.

Enough talk about the looks, though. Let's discuss the monstrous V10 hiding in the back. The "610" in the Huracán's designation is the amount of power this new supercar packs – a figure complemented by 413 pound-feet of torque. The power from the 5.2-liter, direct-injected ten-cylinder is dispatched to all four wheels (that's where the "4" in "610-4" comes from) courtesy of a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Taken as a whole, the Huracán will reach 62 miles per hour in a mind-altering 3.2 seconds, 124 mph in 9.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 201 mph. As we're firmly in the era of environmentally responsible supercars, the latest Lambo features a stop-start system, allowing its V10 engine to net 18.5 miles per gallon on the US cycle.

2015 Lamborghini Huracan2015 Lamborghini Huracan

Other performance goodies include a driving dynamics system, controllable via a steering wheel-mounted switch that can shuffle the Huracán between three different modes: Strada (street), Sport and Corsa (race). These three modes optimize the car's systems based on the conditions, tweaking the engine, transmission, all-wheel-drive system and stability control. Carbon-ceramic brakes come standard, while magnetic ride control and variable-ratio steering are available as optional goodies.

Finally, that name – Huracán. We reported last week that the popular name for the Gallardo replacement might not be Cabrera. Well, that report was true, but what was not, however, was our belief that Huracán abandoned Lambo's tradition of naming cars after famous fighting bulls (which many of you pointed out in Comments on that story). So, here's the official line from Lamborghini, direct from the press release:
"The fighting bull Huracán of the Spanish Conte de la Patilla breed was known for his outstanding courage and strong sense of attack. He fought in Alicante in August 1879, showing his unrelenting character and remaining defiant and invincible, thus entering into the legend of fighting bulls' history."
The Huracán will make its official debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show in March, but before that, it'll take part in 130 different events in 60 cities around the globe. We expect to hear much more about the Huracán ahead of its March debut.

silverstonemx5’s 2005 MINI Cooper Mini Poeper

2005 MINI Cooper

What's New for 2005

The big news for the 2005 Mini Cooper is the arrival of the convertible in both regular and S flavors. Stylish as ever, the drop-top Mini seats four and still has a trunk big enough for a few bags. Other changes include slightly revised front and rear fascias and some reworked option choices. The vanity mirrors are no longer illuminated, a universal remote transmitter is now available and a leather-wrapped steering wheel is now standard. The S version gains 5 horsepower and 7 pound-feet of torque, as well as an external temperature display. Both the five- and six-speed manual transmissions feature shorter gearing this year to improve acceleration. A six-speed automatic transmission will become available on the S versions later in the model year

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options

The endearing little 2005 Mini Cooper is available as either a three-door hatchback or a two-door convertible, and both are available in two versions -- the Cooper and the Cooper S. The base Cooper is outfitted with 15-inch wheels, leatherette upholstery (cloth is a no-cost option), a tilt steering wheel, a centrally mounted speedometer, air conditioning with micron filtration, a six-speaker stereo with CD changer prewiring and power windows, locks and mirrors. The Cooper S adds 16-inch wheels with run-flat performance tires, seat-height adjustment and a leather-wrapped steering wheel; all of these features are available for the base car as well. The extensive options list includes a sport package, leather upholstery and a navigation system. A power-operated top is standard on all convertibles.

Powertrains and Performance

The base car is powered by a 1.6-liter inline four that makes 115 horsepower. This isn't much power by today's standards, but with only 2,300 pounds of car to propel, it's not dreadfully slow. A five-speed manual transmission is standard, and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) with an automanual mode is optional. The sporty Cooper S is aided by a supercharger, allowing it to pump out 168 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard, with a six-speed automatic optional. For those who need more performance, Mini offers the dealer-installed John Cooper Works package, which increases output to 200 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque.

Safety

All Minis come with four-wheel antilock disc brakes assisted by Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Cornering Brake Control. The S model also includes traction control, and should you equip either model with the Sport Package, you'll get Dynamic Stability Control. Other standard safety features include a flat-tire monitor, side airbags for front occupants and head curtain airbags for the front and rear. The convertible version features fixed roll bars perched just behind the rear seat. In government crash tests, the 2005 Mini Cooper hatchback earned four stars (out of five) for frontal impacts and four stars for side impacts involving front occupants. In IIHS frontal offset crash testing, the Cooper was named a "Best Pick" among small cars.

Interior Design and Special Features

The Cooper's petite cabin looks stylish with its metallic trim, tubular structures and Frisbee-size speedometer in the center of the dash. Although everything looks good, some of the plastics used are low in quality. Passenger and cargo space is predictably tight -- there's just 5.6 cubic feet of cargo capacity with the rear seats in use for the hatchback. Amazingly, the convertible has roughly the same amount of cargo space.

Driving Impressions

You can expect lively handling from either 2005 Mini Cooper, as the cars borrow suspension bits from the current BMW 3 Series. Additionally, the more performance-oriented Cooper S gets reinforced antiroll bars and firmer springs -- its setup may be too stiff for some, but enthusiasts will love its tight reflexes around corners. Engine power is modest in both Coopers, but they get by just fine in traffic and the Cooper S loves to rev.

BMW i8 Spyder

BMW i8 Spyder Concept

BMW could be poised to expand its i8 range, beyond the hardtop version of the plug-in hybrid supercar. A report from Bimmerpost is claiming that the i8 Spyder, which we showed you in concept form at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show, will be heading to production.

The website claims the open-roof fuel-sipper was shown to BMW management last Friday as a production-intent model. Other than that, there's not a lot to tell here. The i8 Spyder should feature all the same mechanical and aesthetic features found on the i8 Coupe, just without the confining nature of a roof. It's unclear when we'll see a production i8 droptop make its debut, although this certainly strikes us as the kind of car that should arrive at the Geneva Motor Show.

While an i8 Spyder does seem like a logical leap for BMW's i sub-brand, we're going to keep this one filed under the rumors category until we hear more.

2014 Citroen DS3 Cabrio Racing

Citroën DS3 Cabrio Racing

We know it may be hard to believe for those of us now covered in snow, but the summer wasn't that long ago, and won't be that long away, either. Just this past summer, Citroën rolled in to the Goodwood Festival of Speed with the DS3 Cabrio Racing Concept, a show car that – not unlike the Fiat 500C Abarth – combined the best attributes of the DS3 Cabrio and the firecracker DS3 Racing hot hatch. It wasn't long after that the concept was mooted for production, and now that day has come.

Announced together with Citroën's motorsport program for next season (when it will contest both the World Rally Championship and World Touring Car Championship), the most we've seen until now of the production DS3 Cabrio Racing has been a solitary image released with little in the way of details. But with a little prodding, the folks at Citroën were kind enough to spill the full beans on the new cloth-top hot hatch.

What we're looking at is a fairly faithful translation of the concept to production, with only a few discernable trim differences (like black mirror caps instead of chrome and body-colored front lip spoiler instead of red) to be gleaned. Power comes from the same 1.6-liter turbo four as the DS3 Racing hatchback (now quoted at an incrementally higher 207 horsepower that likely comes down to a rounding error), driving the front set of 18-inch wheels through a six-speed manual. Only instead of the glossy grey paintjob with flashy graphics and bright orange roof, this version has a matte grey finish with subtle anodized red accents and a fabric roof panel that folds back.

Weighing only 55 pounds more than the hatchback, performance is quoted at 6.5 seconds to 62 mph, covering the standing kilometer (3,280 feet) in 26.5 seconds. Only a limited quantity of individually-numbered examples will be available – though just how many, we don't know – starting next month. See the press release below for details and the image gallery above for a closer look on this particular piece of forbidden fruit we wouldn't mind getting our hands on.

Honda CR-V Diesel with attractive look

Honda launched the new generation CR-V recently in India and the vehicle comes with two petrol engines on offer – a 2.0-litre engine producing 154 BHP of power and a 2.4-litre engine which makes 187 BHP of power. The petrol CR-V gives a very low fuel efficiency figure, sometimes as low as 7 km/l, because of its weight and size and it is one of the major reasons for the vehicle’s modest sales in the Indian market. However, the global version of the CR-V has a completely different story to tell. Last year, the Honda CR-V was the highest selling SUV in the world.

Honda already had a 2.2-litre diesel engine powering some of its vehicles globally. However, many countries levy an additional tax on vehicles with bigger engines and hence Honda developed a new 1.6-litre diesel unit to power the Civic, Civic Tourer and the CR-V. This new diesel engine gives out a mind-numbing fuel efficiency as proved in the recent “MPG Marathon” test in the UK. The diesel CR-V was taken on a 819 km long drive through various types of road and weather conditions and even after this rigorous test, the vehicle was able to give a really great efficiency of 27.77 km/l, as shown in the Multi Information Display. Honda had used a front-wheel-drive CR-V with an MT for this test as the diesel model is only available in this configuration.

It is great to know that the 1.6-litre diesel power plant from Honda gives such amazing fuel efficiency. It would be a very wise move for Honda to launch the diesel CR-V in India since the vehicle is loved by many and usually the poor mileage of the petrol engines is the deal-breaker for prospective customers. Even if the diesel CR-V gives 13-14 km/l in India, it would still mean a low running cost of Rs. 4.3 to Rs. 4.6 per km considering the current price of diesel at Rs. 60 per litre. Right now the Honda CR-V petrol costs Rs. 21.80 lakhs to Rs. 26.17 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

DAZZLING BMW X1 2014 MODEL

2014 BMW X1
The compact crossover from the Bavarian carmaker is up for another facelift. However, the changes brought about this time are very subtle as far as exteriors are concerned. On the inside, equipment updates and a few added features and services are introduced. The 2014 BMW X1 will feature refreshed exterior accents and new air intake vents in the front apron. The crossover will also boast of a new V-design of the 17-inch alloy wheels and daytime running lights will now come as standard. BMW will also be introducing a new Sparkling Brown Metallic colour on the 2014 X1. The last mention of the exterior updates is the stainless steel finish at the bottom edge of the tailgate.

The interior trim panels of the BMW X1 are now available in newer options such as gloss black, matte coral-red or pearl gloss chrome finish. The surface of the instrument cluster will also be wrapped in a soft-touch material with lapfolded seams which adds to the premium sense of the car. The aforementioned updates are available for the xLine, Sport Line, or the M Sport trim. New services in the BMW ConnectedDrive form a major chunk of updates. Internet based services such as Online Entertainment can be subscribed to installed as applications. Another app ECO PRO analyser helps you monitor your driving patterns.

There is no change in the engines of the 2014 BMW X1. In the Indian market, the X1 will continue to be powered by the 2.0-litre sDrive20d, 4-cylinder diesel engine which produces 184 BHP of power, 380 Nm of torque, coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The changes in the 2014 model are just an effort to maintain the popularity of the X1. These changes will be the last of the lot as BMW is planning to launch an entirely new model for the year 2016. The updated BMW X1 will be showcased at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show to be held In January.
