Ford India has launched the face-lifted Figo, an enriched version of
India’s “Most Awarded Car” with an enhanced Kinetic design, trendy new
colours and a host of enhanced smart features. Prices start from Rs 3.85
lakh for the petrol trim and Rs 4.81 lakh for the diesel (both
ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Figo will not only add many numbers to the
sales chart but it will also be adding fear among its rivals including
the Chevrolet Beat, Maruti Ritz and others.
Like we mentioned earlier today, the Figo facelift gets
new
headlamps, new steering column mounted audio controls, new tail lamps,
alloy wheels, new front bumper and a new seat fabric design. The new
Figo also gets two new paint shades – Bright Yellow and Kinetic Blue
(borrowed from the Fiesta). The alloy wheels and new shades is only
available in the top-end variant.
In the inside, the sporty red dashboard plastic colour has been
replaced by cool navy blue. Also the Noise, Vibration and Harshness
(NVH) level is said to have been improved inside the cabin with the use
of double bulb weather strips. This feature has been added as road noise
at higher speeds was an issue on the old Figo.
Under the hood, the new Figo is powered by the same 1.2-litre Duratec
petrol engine and 1.4-litre Duratorq diesel engine. However, Ford
claims it has improved engine calibrations for better pickup and gear
shifter mechanism. Power and torque figures of 71PS/102Nm and 69PS/160Nm
for the petrol and diesel engines remain unchanged from the outgoing
car.
New Ford Figo will be offered in four variants for each petrol and
diesel, LXI, EXI, ZXI and Titanium. And the revised Figo variants now
cost Rs 3,000–5,000 more than the old car. The hatch continues to be
offered with a 2-year/1,00,000 km warranty. The company has also
improved its dealer network in the country and the numbers now stands at
230 dealerships and 123 service outlets. By 2015-2016, the company
hopes to ramp up its pan-India network to 500 outlets.
