2012 Ford Classic Titanium Sedan

India has dumped the Fiesta moniker from the previous generation Fiesta, also known as the Fiesta Classic. The change in name could be due to the fact that Ford already has the replacement of the Fiesta sedan selling in India as the all new Fiesta. In a bid for brand differentiation, the Ford Fiesta Classic will now be known as the Ford Classic.

The Ford Classic also gets a brand new Titanium trim that adds a range of features to this sedan while also lowering the price by about INR 70,000, over the previous Fiesta Classic SXi trim. The Ford Classic Titanium petrol now costs INR 6,86,400 while the diesel version is priced at INR 7.82 lakhs, both prices reflecting ex-showroom Delhi figures. The Ford Classic sedan is available with both a petrol and a turbo diesel engine. The 1.6 Liter naturally aspirated Duratec petrol engine delivers 101 PS-146 Nm while the 1.4 Liter TDCI turbo diesel engine is good for 68 PS-160 Nm. Both the engines get a five speed manual gearbox.

Ford claims a fuel economy figure of 32.38 Kmpl for the Classic sedan’s diesel variant, which in other words means that driving like a grandpa on roads with minimal traffic are absolute essentials for you to achieve such superlative figures. So, expect about 14-16 Kmpl overall, in normal driving conditions, which is a fair figure anyway. Similarly, in grand daddy mode, the Classic 1.6 petrol is touted to deliver over 21 Kmpl. In the real world, expect about 12-14 Kmpl overall. That said, it’ll be a task in itself for you to to actually drive the Ford Classic in grandpa mode, given the excellent ride and handling package this sedan comes with.
