Ahead of its debut at the upcoming 2012
Goodwood Festival of Speed, hallowed luxury marquee Bentley has just
released information and images about its latest car, the Continental GT
Speed, which will be the fastest road going Bentley ever. The 2013
Continental GT Speed will be officially unveiled at a setting that is
extremely apt given that this is one car that embodies pure performance
in a luxurious and super classy looking package. The 2013 Bentley
Continental GT Speed will manage a top speed of 205 Mph or 328 Kph,
which is seriously fast.
The car will be powered by the twin turbo
W12 petrol engine displacing 6 liters. This 12 cylinder engine has been
worked upon to deliver much more power and torque than ever before. The
W12 engine produces a peak power of 616 Bhp generated at 6,000 rpm
while a prodigious 800 Nm of torque means that this car will hurtle to
the 100 Kph mark from standstill in a racy 4 seconds. These are
performance figures that will shame many a supercar. The power and
torque is transmitted to all four wheels of the car through a close
ratio 8 speed ZF automatic transmission.
The Bentley Continental GT Speed’s ZF
transmission also delivers a 12% increase in fuel economy, which is
quite outstanding given that the engine now produces more power and
torque. To add to the car’s sporty appeal, the chassis has been lowered
with the steering and suspension getting a once over to make for sharper
handling. The 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed comes with luxurious
yet sporty interiors with black dominating the scheme of things in the
car. The materials used on the dashboard of the car is quite unlike the
wood and leather used on other Bentleys with aluminum and leather
dominating proceedings.
The 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed’s
coupe like styling and clean lines makes the big Bentley look fast even
while standing still; full credit to the designers for making this high
performance car look muscular and racy. Bookings for the car are already
being taken now and deliveries will begin from October 2012. Volkswagen
group owned Bentley has a range of luxurious cars that it sells in
markets across the world. The automaker will get into the luxury
crossover segment with an SUV that will be launched sometime in 2014.
The crossover, called the EXP-9F was previewed at the 2012 Geneva Motor
Show.
