Maruti Suzuki offers heavy discounts on petrol cars: WagonR, Alto, Estilo get over 50,000 Rupees off

Unprecedented, is the word that comes to ones mind when learning upon the mammoth discounts that the country’s largest automaker, Maruti Suzuki, is offering on most of its petrol cars. Sensing a big lull in demand for petrol cars, Maruti seems to have gone on overdrive to dole out discounts on its petrol car range to spur sales and revive car buyer interest. While it remains to be seen whether this will help loosen purse strings of the entry level small car, Maruti can’t be faulted for not trying, and while at that, trying very hard at that with some very attractive offers.

Maruti Suzuki Monsoon Car Discounts

Here’s the full list on what you can expect in the form of discounts, when you walk into a Maruti Suzuki dealer wanting to purchase a small car:
Maruti 800: INR 19,000(Please note that Maruti has stopped producing the 800 and thus you can push for bigger discounts)
Maruti Suzuki Alto F8D: INR 50,000
Maruti Suzuki Alto F8D CNG LXi: INR 45,000
Maruti Suzuki Alto K10: INR 50,000
Maruti Suzuki A-Star: INR 50,000
Maruti Suzuki WagonR petrol: INR 50,000
Maruti Suzuki WagonR Duo: INR 43,000
Maruti Suzuki WagonR CNG: INR 50,000
Maruti Suzuki Estilo petrol: INR 55,000
Maruti Suzuki Estilo CNG: INR 55,000
Maruti Omni all variants: INR 12,000
Maruti Eeco petrol: INR 15,000
Maruti Eeco CNG: INR 15,000
Maruti Suzuki Swift petrol: INR 15,000
Maruti Suzuki Ritz Petrol: INR 41,000
Maruti Suzuki Ritz Diesel: INR 20,000
Maruti Suzuki SX4 Petrol: INR 70,000
Maruti Suzuki SX4 Diesel: INR 70,000
Maruti Suzuki SX4 CNG: INR 70,000
So, from above, it is quite clear that Maruti Suzuki is selling its petrol car range at heavily discounted prices, especially in the entry level car market, which is the bread and butter segment bringing in big volumes. Interestingly, the only diesel engined cars that get significant discounts are the Ritz and the SX4. The Ritz is due for a facelift and the discounts being offered could portend the facelifted model being just around the corner. In the Sx4′s case, this sedan has been a slow seller for Maruti for quite a while and the discounts are aimed at perking up sales.

Quite significantly, in the entry level car segment, Maruti is offering discounts on the CNG  and LPG variants of its cars too, in a bid to push sales. The only two cars that don’t get discounts are the Dzire and the Ertiga, both being top sellers with demand very strong. The CBUs like the Grande Vitara SUV and the Kizashi sedan also don’t carry discounts “officially” despite being sluggards. That said, some hard bargaining might get you good deals on CBUs too.
