BMW sets up a Mini dealership in Delhi

After setting up the first Mini dealership in Mumbai, German luxury car brand BMW has set up the second Mini dealership in Delhi, with Bird Automotive being the dealer that will sell Minis in India’s capital city. BMW will also open another Mini dealership in the country’s capital in the coming months. Bird Automotive is an existing BMW dealer and the other Mini dealership that will come up in Delhi is expected to be run by Deutsche Motoren, another existing BMW dealer. The Mini dealership in Delhi, run by Bird Automotive, is located at the posh Vasant Kunj locality, spread across 5,000 square feet. The dealership was launched on Wednesday, 6th June, 2012.

The Mini dealership in Delhi is spread across two floors and displays 6 cars. The dealership will also retail Mini accessories and Mini’s lifestyle range that includes clothing and other branded knick knacks. Apart from launching the dealership, BMW made an important announcement in the form of Mini Financial Services that are now up and running in India as well. BMW already has the BMW Financial Services which provides a full financial package for BMW buyers, right from financing to extended service packages and insurance.
Similarly, Mini buyers will also be able to opt for these services through the just launched Mini Financial Services. The other location in India where the BMW Mini cars are available is at Mumbai, with the Mini dealership being run by Infinity Cars. In the coming years, Mini dealerships are expected to spring up across many other Indian cities as demand for these niche cars grows. The BMW Mini has both a  BMW sells four models of the Mini range in India, the Cooper, the Cooper S, the Convertible and the Countryman. The range begins from INR 24.99 lakhs for the Cooper, going all the way up to INR 31.99 lakhs, for the Countryman.
The Mini range in India comes with two petrol engines, a naturally aspirated and a turbocharged 1.6 Liter unit. In naturally aspirated guise, this engine puts out 122 Bhp while forced induction gives this engine 184 Bhp. Both these engines are mated to a six speed automatic transmission in all models of the Mini range in India. BMW has already managed to sell 50 units of the Mini range from Mumbai, ever since Infinity Cars begun the Mini dealership operations from early April, this year. Currently, all cars in Mini’s Indian range are imported into the country through the completely built unit(CBU) route.
